Purpose, Scope and Objectives
Purpose
 The purpose of this forum is to provide an arena for the free exchange of information, informal discussion and sharing of knowledge and experience.
Scope
The scope of this forum is any topic or issue relating to the design, installation, operation and general management of power network equipment. The following are considered within scope:
- High voltage switchgear
- High voltage cables and terminations
- Asset management of switchgear
- Safety and environmental performance of existing and future substations
- Responsibilities of private network owners
- Power network earthing systems
- Risk management of power network failure and unauthorised interference
- Power network stability
- Power network management and protection system tools, techniques and technologies
Objectives
- To consider common problems and seek common solutions
(e.g. equipment performance, failures etc)
- To be informed of new technologies and innovation
(e.g. what is new from the manufacturers, technical bodies etc)
- To consider the health and safety aspects of operating a power network
- To consider cost effective management solutions for power systems.
(e.g. safety, reliability, maintenance, testing, commissioning etc)
Attendance
- Membership shall be restricted to Private Network Operators and EA Technology Ltd.
Manufacturers, Service Providers and Ad Hoc visitors shall attend by invitation only.
