EA Technology offers a whole suite of condition
assessment instruments from a handheld portable
detector that locates underground cable faults or
pen sized device designed to detect the presence
of an electrical field to a PD Locator
which locates partial discharge activity from within
high voltage insulation material to the top of the
range 100 Multi-node Multi Channel Substation Monitor
Is a lightweight, handheld portable detector that
locates underground cable faults by detecting specific
gases produced by burning insulation from all common
types of cables, an essential tool in fault location.
The pen sized device designed
to detect the presence of an electrical field surrounding a live
LV insulated wire. The instrument is calibrated to illuminate when within
3mm of a live core of a standard cable, allowing
identification of live wires when bundled with others. |

The Worlds first lightweight hand
held partial discharge detector that can detect both
Surface Discharges and Internal TEV Discharges. Ultrasonic
sensors pick up early signs of surface discharge and
TEV sensors pick up internal discharge both indicated
by two coloured lights.
UltraTEV Plus+TM - The UltraTEV Plus+TM has been designed for today’s Power Engineers with a comprehensive suit of display screens and functions to give him all of the information he needs to understand the condition of his HV/MV assets.
The easy-to-use accessory enables operators to confirm that their UltraTEV Detectors™ are correctly calibrated, without the cost and inconvenience of returning them to the company each year to be tested. Units only need to be returned if they are outside their specified calibration. The Calibration checker only requires an annual calibration to ensure it is functioning correctly.
Hand held instrument designed
for engineers to detect partial discharge activity on
HV switchgear, by displaying the magnitude and pulse
count outputs on a LCD screen display. Also it produces
a value for the discharge pulse rate that allows a severity
factor to be calculated.
Designed to address the problem
of verifying damaged underground cables during highway
maintenance repairs, ensuring the correct cable has been
isolated. With the aid of a hot stick the extended volt
stick can be brought into the proximity of the conductors,
yet keep personnel at a safe distance.
Developed by EA Technology, utilises the principle of
ß frit welding to reduce the resistance of a low
voltage mechanical cable joint to that of a newly made
one. Rejuvenates old cable joints, rectifies intermittent
cable faults and can extend cable life when used within
a maintenance plan.
PD Monitor the most successful monitor of partial discharge
currently available in the world today. Completely non-intrusive,
it is designed to monitor discharges over a period of
time and indicate variations caused by changes in the
operating environment, such as voltage surges, temperature
and humidity. The data gathered is stored onto disc,
which can then be analysed to indicate levels of discharge
and severity over a period of up to two months.
PD locator partial discharge activity from within
high voltage insulation material. These small discharges
generate transient earth voltage signals (TEV) that
can be detected and measured by the PD Locator . The magnitude
of the TEV signal is measured using the instrument in
single probe mode. Using the instrument in two-probe
mode indicates the source of the discharge in relation
to the probes.
The UltraTEV AlarmTM is a unique and cost effective early warning system, which enhances the operator safety and confidence in the continuing reliability and safety of plant by providing continuous monitoring of MV switchgear for signs of deterioration which are likely to lead to failures and danger to personnel.
Multi-node Multi Channel Substation Monitor. Designed
for both permanent and semi-permanent installation,
the PD Monitor Plus + can monitor many substation parameters, but
specifically partial discharge activity using up to
100 nodes, which can be distributed anywhere on the
surface of switchgear equipment. Each node can have
a transient earth voltage (TEV) probe, or an aerial,
or up to six ultrasonic probes attached. The nodes constantly
measure both TEV and acoustic activity (Ultrasonic)
to provide a highly accurate picture of the condition
of the switchgear insulation and any sign of breakdown
that could lead to expensive failure.
The low cost portable device
designed to monitor and record supply fluctuation
trends. Installation is fast and simple and there
are no user accessible controls making it virtually
tamperproof.
