EA Technology provides independent
technical consultancy on a wide range of analytical techniques
including Scanning Electron Microscopy, Optical Microscopy,
Image Analysis, Infra red spectrometry and X-ray analysis
to provide information on the current and future problems
of electrical plant and equipment.
Metals & materials analysis EA Technology can provide specialist
analytical services for the identification, examination
and condition assessment of materials and components.
The
Circular Electrode System (CES) Assess the condition of various
slab insulation materials within electrical equipment.
By determining the condition of the materials the reliability
and safe use of the equipment is improved.
Live
Tank Oil Sampling The oil condition in switchgear
units is the critical factor in determining the need for
invasive maintenance. EA Technology has produced an innovative
system, which allows oil samples to be taken from any
"live" switchgear oil tank fitted with a test
access lid. Significant cost savings can be achieved by
optimising this maintenance practice.
Analytical Services Oil
condition monitoring by EA Technology and TJH2b EA Technology and the specialist
American analytical services company TJH2b
have recently implemented a major collaboration resulting
in an enhancement of the analytical services available
from the laboratory on the EA Technology site at Capenhurst,
Nr Chester UK.
Both organisations have a long and distinguished history
of providing high quality analytical services to the owners
and operators of high voltage equipment. In particular
both organisations seek to use analysis of oil and SF6
to provide information on condition and future performance
of equipment including transformers, switchgear, circuits
breakers and tap changers.
In addition to offering the full range of standard tests,
the laboratory offers innovative sampling protocols, additional
analytical tests and propriety diagnostics specifically
targeted to enable condition based management of HV equipment.
The services now available combine the best of British
and American knowledge and experience that is currently
being widely applied with major companies on both sides
of the Atlantic.
