EA Technology OilData™ is a suite of services that provide asset managers with crucial asset condition data without the need for invasive investigations. OilData™ provides analysis for a wide variety of power assets, including
Live Tank Oil Sampling (LTOS) for ring main units and extensible switchgear and oil quality analysis for circuit breakers and transformers. Combining oil condition data with other key factors such as environment, fault history, loading and age give a Health Index, a single numeric value indicating the present condition of an item plant. Comparison of Health Indices for a population of equipment allows clear identification of priorities for replacement, overhaul or maintenance.
The oil analysis can include oil quality (moisture levels, acidity and breakdown strength), analysis of dissolved gasses, furfuraldehyde content and assessment of solid contamination.
These results are then compared to the vast data from our extensive research, which allows us to assess the condition, potential for failure and proximity to end of life of the asset. This in turn facilitates more efficient and cost effective asset management strategies, based on actual asset condition, rather than time based protocols, avoiding disruptive maintenance where it is not required, and identifying problems before they become costly failures.
