The UltraTEV Alarm™ is a Partial Discharge (PD) system that combines all the benefits of EA Technology’s award winning PD detection and monitoring, in one simple to install, automatic set up. The UltraTEV Alarm™ system provides continuous monitoring of PD activity across all your HV/MV assets, reassuring you when they are working correctly, warning you of the need for further investigation and raising the alarm if levels reach a critical or dangerous level.

Each asset is fitted with its own sensor node that monitors both TEV levels and ultrasonic PD activity. Each node has its own warning lights to indicate increased PD activity, and is also linked to a central hub that monitors all the individual nodes.

The hub can provide valuable early warning of faults as they develop, allowing timely interventions and maintenance, as well as raising audible and visual alarms should PD levels become dangerous. These alarms can be placed outside the substation to warn personnel of the dangers before they enter the building. Warnings can also be sent via text or email to anywhere in the world, allowing centralised monitoring and control of remote assets.
