UK’s new Chinese interface products star at Expo 2010 Shanghai

Cheshire-based power engineering specialist EA Technology has scored a marketing hit with the launch of Chinese versions of its latest products at Expo 2010 Shanghai - the world’s largest expo event, expected to attract 70 million visitors.

The company unveiled two new products with Mandarin Chinese user interfaces at a special Innovation in Power Engineering reception in the Liverpool Pavilion.

More than 50 senior representatives from China’s electricity distribution and industrial companies were also shown a film in Mandarin, explaining EA Technology’s latest instruments and techniques for assessing the condition of high and medium voltage power assets by measuring Partial Discharge (PD) activity.

“Chinese-speaking countries are very interested in new ways to enhance the management of power networks by improving understanding of asset condition,” said EA Technology International Director Neil Davies.

“Our strategy of developing products specially for Chinese users and establishing a strong local base for marketing and supporting them is definitely paying off. Sales into the power distribution sector are expanding fast and there is growing interest from major electricity users, such as steel producers.”

EA Technology has its own office in Shanghai and a network of distribution partners in mainland China and Singapore.

The two new products launched with Mandarin user interfaces are:
The UltraTEV Monitor™: marketed as the most powerful system ever developed for monitoring PD activity in HV and MV substation assets over time.

The UltraTEV Locator™: described as the world’s most powerful and versatile portable system for investigating and recording Partial Discharge (PD) activity in live MV and HV assets.

EA Technology will be a major participant at CICED 2010 - The 4th China International Conference on Electricity Distribution – in Nanjing on September 12-16th.

More 250,000 visitors have so far passed through the Liverpool Pavilion, which is showcasing technologies from North West England and the UK.
