EA Technology’s Lightning Location System is a unique service that provides instant, real-time data on all lightning strikes across the UK and Ireland. What’s more, because the system only reports on cloud to ground strikes, rather than all lightning activity, the data provided is always clear, uncluttered and relevant.

Using six detection stations, the Lightning Detection System monitors all ground strikes and relays this data instantly to subscribers via user-friendly PC software with a simple graphic interface – often before they hear the associated thunder. Up to 100 strikes a second can be monitored and located to within 100metres using Ordinance Survey grid references.
