City & Guilds 2339 Level 2 Certificate: Electrical Power Engineering – Distribution and Transmission (Taught Programme)

EA Technology offers the City & Guilds level 2 Certificate in Electrical Power Engineering – Transmission and Distribution (2339-17) as a taught programme.

This qualification has been developed in association with industry employers and the sector skills council Energy & Utility Skills (EU Skills) and serves as the knowledge component in the Apprenticeship Standards.

It allows candidates to gain the knowledge required for employment and/or career progression in electricity distribution and transmission.  Candidates can progress on to the City & Guilds level 3 Certificate in Electrical Power Engineering – Transmission and Distribution (2339-42)


The course includes the following four units:

  • Understanding legislation in the power industry
  • Mathematics, mechanical and electrical theory in power engineering
  • Power engineering electrical networks, plant and apparatus
  • Power engineering cables, substations and overhead lines
